Yesterday, I had a fantastic day watching my first Intra-league Roller Derby Bout! It was the Wirral Whipiteres divided up into the Lion Maimers and the Aggrobats. It was tough to decide who to root for as I had allegiances with both, so tried to remain impartial and both teams played so well. It was great to see tactics in play and the Lion Maimers took the first half with great jamming and brilliant blocking, yet the Aggrobats pulled it back after half time. It was insanely tense towards the end, with each team alternately clawing points from each jam to take the lead. Yet the Lion Maimers did it just in time and won the bout!
I really have fallen in love with this sport and can’t wait to be good enough to bout myself soon!
